Whats in your sink?

Picture
This assignment was about making things that are normally over looked, look larger than life. The photos I took were of simple things in an art room. Sponges sink drains and bottles of paint. I was  able to focus in on contrasting color and textures , or the raw material of the things in the room, and since all the subject matter is the same (for the most part) let’s focus on the picture on the left. The picture follows the rule of thirds with the subject (a bottle and a bracelet on a sponge) in the lower right hand corner. There is also background and a focused foreground. This adds a layer of depth to the picture.  I used the macro setting on a Nikon camera with a macro lens attached. I was able to capture something that was in a sink. Usually people overlook the contents of their sink, and granted this is an art sink so it’s always got interesting things in it. I think my picture has a calm feeling to it along with an air of curiosity. Where was it taken? What is it? Why?!
